About Mel Aubert

Mel Aubert PhotoMel was born to entertain. From an early age she would delight her parents' friends at parties with a song, dance, or joke before being locked back up in the attic. It was here that she developed her incredible imagination and sense of humor, laughing along with pretend friends who found her hysterically funny.

An honor student through high school, Mel kept her ego in check by being cast several times as "Girl #2" in school plays and receiving taunts of "Choir Fag" as she roamed the halls. College brought a degree in marketing from the illustrious School of Business at San Diego State University, where she first learned to sell her talent through finely-honed skills. Translation: she baffled them with bullshit.

After marrying in 1991, she spent the next few years successfully performing stand-up in front of her bathroom mirror. Her husband was always supportive and finally said the words to encourage her to move beyond the confines of her own home: "Babe, you're not funny. Seriously...you need to get a job!" With this new-found motivation, Mel decided to give back to the community by earning a credential in elementary education. She has been teaching since 1995 in Marin County, just north of San Francisco, but felt a change was in need.

She was riddled with guilt about making SOOOOOO much money as a teacher and wanted to truly give back to the community by entertaining thousands with her charm, beauty, and wit.(Not to mention her creative writing and comedy skills!) Her hope is to make it big so that she can give her children what they truly deserve...a full-time nanny. "I only want the best for them" this loving mother is quoted as saying. Mel's other special skills include speaking fluent Spanish when she's drunk and debating politics with world leaders.

But seriously folks, Mel is making a name for herself both locally in the Bay Area and nationally, in commercials, independent movies and television. She has several TV projects in the works where she is serving as both writer and actress and routinely performs her no-holds barred stand-up act around the country, most recently in the Krave Lounge at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
